There’s a new site out there for downloading Creative Commons and other works “legally” via bittorrent. It’s called LegalTorrents.

These types of sites are important in order to promote the fact that bittorrent and other Peer-to-Peer services are not inherently illegal. The media often generalize to claim that filesharing is always illegal. This falsely assumes that all creators want to maximize total control over their work and that profit cannot be made from a liberal copyright license.

This is not the case. Artists are finding that filesharing is helping to promote and improve their work.
