Minutes

Attendance: Nelson Pavlosky '06, David A. Benitez '06, Rebecca Goldman '07, David Chudzicki '07, Alex Benn '08, Arthur Chu '06.

Topics of Discussion

  • Benitez talked about the supplies that he researched
    • Collage materials is a text file that contains materials that might be used and how they may be gathered.
    • There are some reservations about the project possibly being unsuccessful, but we are hopeful that it may go through.
    • Benitez suggests a way to entice people is with food, Alex suggests a possible BBQ.
    • Raw materials needed so that people don't have to carry their own stuff to glue/paste on (unless they want to).

Activites to be Planned

  • Nelson suggests showing Night of the Living Dead sometime on Halloween.
  • Chudzicki suggests having a Paces party in order to increase awareness of FCS as a group on campus.
    • He suggests something akin to the "DJ Your Own" party that happened last year.
    • We absolutely need to make sure that there are no other events happening that weekend so we get everyone's full attention.
    • Require advance posting of information about the party
      • Can anyone check to see when are good times to host this party that have nothing else planned on the needed weekend?
  • Space has been reserved at SCI101 for the first meeting.
    • May possibly involve having Jimbo Wales speaking at this first meeting, although it is more likely that we'll have him for a later event instead.
      • Nelson will try to get in contact with him to see if he can stop by Swarthmore.
      • Nelson will also get in contact with Maria Macia of the FFFS for funding.
      • Arthur will send out an email to Al Chang for FFFP for details about other funds.
    • Facebook may be used for RSVP'ing for the meeting.
