Meetings rule!

Agenda

Movie showings

  • Films of Fury event not happening Thursday, Ben Saller wanted it to be a separate event, not a regular Films of Fury showing... still waiting for a date from them.
  • SWIL?

Record Store Protest

  • We are not postponing it again. We are doing it this weekend. Why? Because there is a Daily Gazette reporter covering it this time.

Summit?

Shall we do a national FC summit on April 14-16?

Next Year

  • What activities and projects will we work on next year?
  • Who will be the energy source next year? Or will we just rely on next year's crop of freshmen?

Minutes

Attendance: Lauren Stokes, Nelson Pavlosky, Eric Astor, David Pupkin, Alex Benn.

Movie showings

  • Films of Fury has not yet given us a date
  • SWIL: they'll call us if they need us. Push Star Wars Revelations on them.

Record Store Protest

  • Definitely Saturday the 25th from 1-4; yes, it conflicts with Screw, but we'll get back early

Tabling

  • No Love for Google? Good reasons, bad reasons.

Summit

  • We should try to do something, stick with the date April 14-16th
    • What's better for a Parrty? Friday or Saturday?
      • Verdict was Saturday
    • Alex Benn will talk to Media Services; if the projector thing is not an issue, we go to Tarble, if we can't get a projector easily, we go to Paces.
  • What kind of speaker can we get? List of possible Summit speakers

Cooper Grant

  • Alex Benn will bug Nelson and Eric Loui. Lauren will send out e-mail.

Next Year

  • Do we want to have a club next year?
    • Yes; we do something good for the world.
  • What is the club going to do?
    • Hopefully, this Cooper Grant event.
    • Definitely, a LAN Party.
    • If we can talk Rob into being involved, we should do more re-mixing events.
  • What do we need to do now to accomplish these things then?
    • We need to pass on our culture; if we don't, we won't have a club.
    • We need to maintain Nelson's contacts and involvement on the national level.
    • Can people start coming to national meetings? Nelson can train multiple proteges.
    • We need to make our core group larger so that a few of us don't have to shoulder the entire burden and so that we'll have a better publicity mechanism.
  • What roles need to be filled?
    • The heart of the club--keeps up energy, has charisma, gets people to come to meetings, is the cheerleader for every project.
    • The Nelson show--has a spiel, knows what's up, has charisma, gives speeches, recruits freshmen.
    • The national liaison--has national contacts, communicates with them, thinks about summits.
    • President/Organizer--sends out e-mails, managing mailing list, calls sub-meetings, talks to administration, press and student contact, holds onto supplies and prop, has ideas for projects and runs projects. SHOULD PROBABLY BE SPLIT INTO TWO.
  • What other things would be nice?
    • Having professors who love us; Tim Burke can't be the only one

Dinner meetings?

  • Bug specific people; get people excited about dinner meetings.

Bits and ends

  • Lauren will be treasurer until the end of the year; she WILL have money NEXT WEEK
