Free Culture Labs
- Free Culture Labs is a national Free Culture project for the recruitment of open source software hackers
- We want to recruit through the CS and Biology departments - in lieu of hackers, perhaps we can connect with Language departments in order to internationalize software?
- Nick has spoken to Keleman
- We'll know more once the Science Commons code has actually been released
Working with Activist groups
- This is tied to a great deal of outreach that we also need to do
Cory Doctorow
- Mukethe will email Eliza for more information before approaching Doctorow
- omfg j00 guyz
Free Culture LAN Party
- Set for last weekend in February, 24 Saturday night until 25 Sunday morning - about 7pm to 3am?
- Sci 199 - Alex will reserve the space
- As the date gets closer, we'll find consoles, DDR mats, etcetera
Music Stuff
- WSRN recording studio
- Nick will speak to Wren about the studio's plans
- At the moment, the planned studio does not have space for a drum kit
- Perhaps work with WSRN to get more money? Find a different space with more room?
- Once established, perhaps we could act as a liason between the studio to record under CC licenses
- Outreach to Antenna Alliance as well?
- The $400 Box!
- Two-track recorder; we could set up in Olde Club in order to record live shows
- Ben will write the proposal once Eric sends him the relevant information
- Free Culture DC++ server?
- Both Eric and Nick have spare computers that could be dedicated to this
